Classes / Length of Class / Cost

Introduction to Knitting   3-hour session $50

This class will teach you how to cast-on, the knit and purl stitch and how to bind off.  You will be ready to knit scarves for a wonderful Christmas gift. You are more than welcome to stay after class and knit.

Introduction to Crochet    3-hour session $50

This class will teach you the basics for crochet. You will learn how to make a foundation chain, the single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitches.  You will need to purchase smooth, light colored, worsted weight yarn and an appropriately sized crochet hook.  If you have a project in mind bring the pattern to class.  If time allows we may be able to get you started.  You are more than welcome to stay after and practice your new skills.

Beginner Knitting Project    Two 2-hour sessions $60

You will learn how to decrease and increase while knitting a beautiful scarf for a special person or for yourself.  You must know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Offered  Sunday, March 4 and 18, 2012  2:00 - 4:00p.m

 

Oops! Class    2-hour session $35

Tired of pulling your hair out trying to fix a mistake?  This is the class for you.  You will feel like a new person when you can fix your mistakes without tears!  Kleenex will be on hand if needed.  Students should bring a 6x6 inch swatch still on the needles.  Also bring your mistakes if you have them.

Finishing Class    2-hour session $45

You have spent all this time knitting a beautiful project and all of a sudden you have to put it all together and the panic starts!  We will teach you all the basics for finishing your projects like a pro.  You will need to bring two 4x4 inch swatches in either DK or worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles.

Socks on Double-Point Needles    Three 2-hour sessions $60

Tired of looking at everyone else make socks and wondering if you can do it?  Well you can!!  Great for gifts too!!  This class will have homework and will be held in 3 sessions. Session one will be the cuff, session two will be the heel and session three will be the toe. Please come a few minutes ahead of your class and buy your yarn and double point needles. These classes fill up fast so please call and reserve your seat ASAP.  

Offered  Tuesday February 14, 21, and 28, 2012 11:00 - 1:00 for all three sessions

 

Fair-Isle Technique - Hat    Two 1 1/2-hour sessions $45

 With this class you will probably not have a finished project by the end of the sessions but you will learn the technique of knitting with two yarns at the same time.  Lots of fun!!

Offered  March 6 and 13, 2012  11:00 - 12:30 p.m. for both sessions

 

Entrelac Technique    One 3-hour session          $55

This technique will teach you how to make an interlocking diamond pattern using simple knit and purl stitches.  This is a very fascinating and fun technique showing endless possibilities in lace, cables, color work and more.
